Life Skills in Action.

Chippewa’s 8th grade students participated in Real Money, Real World, learning how to manage budgets, careers, and real-life decisions with guidance from NHS students and Mrs. Kager.

Chippewa’s 8th graders took a big step toward future readiness through Real Money, Real World, an interactive financial literacy program designed to teach students essential budgeting and decision-making skills.

Each student was assigned a career and salary, then challenged to budget for housing, transportation, childcare, groceries, and more—mirroring real adult responsibilities. With help from Mrs. Kager and student volunteers from the National Honor Society, students navigated tough choices and unexpected challenges, discovering the importance of smart financial planning.

This hands-on experience gave students a deeper appreciation for the costs of living and the value of thoughtful spending. It was a fun and eye-opening way to apply math and critical thinking in a real-world context.

A big thank you to Mrs. Kager and the NHS students for making the experience so impactful—our Chipps are better prepared for the road ahead!
