The Chippewa Boys Soccer program faced two challenging scrimmages last evening, with the JV team battling against Barberton and the Varsity squad securing a dominant win over Massillon Washington.


It was a tale of two games for Chippewa Boys Soccer as the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams took the field in consecutive nights of action.

JV Game Recap
The JV squad had a tough outing against Barberton, falling 9-2 despite a determined effort. Brayden Hershberger found the back of the net with an assist from Oliver Riggenbach, who also scored a goal of his own with help from Calvin Gasser. While the scoreboard didn’t favor the Chipps, the team’s persistence and fight throughout the match set the stage for growth as the season progresses.

Varsity Game Recap
In contrast, the Varsity Chipps delivered a commanding performance against Massillon Washington, securing a 3-0 victory. Parker West opened the scoring, followed by goals from Corbin Gasser and Jack Mosier. Assists came from Gasser and West, with West contributing two. The defense and goalkeeping were equally impressive, holding the opponent scoreless and earning a clean sheet.

These games highlight the ups and downs of a competitive soccer season—lessons learned for the JV squad and a momentum-building win for Varsity. The Chipps will look to carry their energy and determination into the matches ahead.
