Both Chippewa Boys Soccer teams delivered strong performances against Canton Central Catholic, with JV winning 3-0 and Varsity securing a 2-1 victory.
It was a winning night for Chippewa Boys Soccer as both the JV and Varsity teams came away with hard-earned victories over Canton Central Catholic.
JV Recap
The JV squad continued its unbeaten start with a dominant 3-0 shutout. Goals came from Titus Klotzle, Davey Hutchison, and Oscar Jonke, while Holden LeFever notched an assist and anchored the defense with one save. The Chipps outshot CCC 15-1 and controlled possession throughout, earning a decisive edge with five corner kicks to CCC’s one. The JV team now stands at 2-0-1 on the season.
Varsity Recap
In a competitive matchup, the Varsity Chipps earned a 2-1 win. Canton Central Catholic’s Jeiso Inesteoza opened the scoring off an assist from Vince Pena, but Chippewa answered back before halftime with a goal from Parker West. In the second half, Corbin Gasser provided the game-winner, scoring and also adding an assist on West’s earlier goal.
Goalkeepers on both sides were tested as Davey Hutchison made seven saves for Chippewa, and CCC’s Emerson Schwiger matched that with seven of his own. The Chipps outshot CCC 16-8 and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. With the victory, the Varsity team improves to 2-1-0, while CCC moves to 1-1-0.
The sweep highlights the Chipps’ growing chemistry and ability to perform under pressure as they continue to build momentum early in the season.
