Creepy, Crawly Science.

Sophomores in Mrs. Ogg’s Biology class at Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School got hands-on with science this week as they explored earthworm anatomy through dissection. The lesson brought life science to life—literally!

Chippewa’s sophomore biology students wormed their way into a unique learning experience this week with an in-depth earthworm dissection. Guided by Mrs. Ogg, students investigated internal systems like digestion and circulation, reinforcing their understanding of invertebrate biology through real-world exploration.

Armed with gloves, tools, and curiosity, students took careful steps to identify key anatomical features, working in pairs to follow scientific procedures with precision and teamwork. Their efforts showcased not just academic focus, but a willingness to engage with challenging material head-on.

Hands-on labs like this one allow students to make meaningful connections between textbook concepts and the natural world—deepening both understanding and appreciation for life sciences. This immersive activity is part of Chippewa’s continued commitment to student-led, inquiry-based learning.

The room was filled with focused energy, inquisitive minds, and more than a few surprised reactions—turning a simple worm into a fascinating learning moment.

With dissections now underway, students are one step closer to tackling more complex systems and species in the months ahead.
