Eighth Graders Explore Bauman Orchards on Hands-On Field Trip ππ
Learning business behind the scenes.
Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School eighth graders visited Bauman Orchards for a field trip where they picked apples, saw cider production, and explored business operations.
Learning extended beyond the traditional classroom walls as our eighth grade students embarked on an exciting field trip to Bauman Orchards. The fall excursion gave students a hands-on look at agricultural business while allowing them to enjoy seasonal traditions together.
During the visit, the students took a scenic hay ride through the orchard and hand-picked their own fresh apples to take home. They also toured the facility to see how fresh cider is processed, how apples are stored, and how everyday business operations run behind the scenes.
Connecting real-world local businesses to classroom lessons helps our Chipps understand how business concepts apply in their own community. Experiences like this bridge the gap between academic learning and practical experience, giving students a clearer view of local industry and career opportunities.
The trip brought plenty of smiles, fresh crisp air, and memorable moments as classmates shared the experience together. Seeing our eighth graders engaged in hands-on exploration highlights the joy of learning outside the classroom setting.
We extend a huge thank you to Bauman Orchards for hosting our students and supporting our educational journey. We look forward to more enriching community learning opportunities for our Chipps throughout the school year.
