Maker’s Class Makes Mazes for Class Rats! 🐀🧠
Which Maze Will Win.
Students in Ms. DeMeio’s Maker’s Class at Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School are putting their design skills to the test by building cardboard mazes for the class rats, Poppy and Petunia. These hands-on creations blend creativity, strategy, and a little friendly competition.
Chippewa’s Maker’s Class has turned the classroom into a full-blown maze laboratory this week as students build intricate cardboard paths for their furry classmates to navigate.
Each student-designed maze challenges the rats’ problem-solving instincts, with tunnels, dead-ends, and clever design tricks. Students brainstormed layouts, cut and constructed their blueprints from cardboard, and refined their designs through trial and error.
Projects like this build critical thinking, collaboration, and design skills—all while engaging students in a fun, hands-on experience. The rats? They’re loving it too.
Laughter and anticipation filled the room as students watched their mazes in action, cheering on each other’s work and learning from how the rats responded to each design. The competition sparked curiosity, and the creativity on display was impressive.
With this success, the Maker’s Class is already brainstorming its next challenge. Stay tuned for more interactive fun from the Chipps!
