Crunch the Numbers, Play On.

Students in Mr. Robison’s Quantitative Reasoning class at Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School wrapped up the year by designing carnival games that apply real-world math. Over 125 students attended the end-of-year event to play, learn, and celebrate their hard work.

Chippewa’s Quantitative Reasoning class turned math into magic this week with a student-created carnival packed with interactive games. From ring toss challenges to spin-the-wheel games, each booth was carefully designed using principles of probability, ratios, and statistics.

As part of a year-end project, students worked in teams to develop games that were both fun and mathematically sound. They calculated odds, built rules to balance fairness and excitement, and created signage that explained the math behind the mechanics. The result? A lively in-class carnival that attracted over 125 student visitors.

This engaging activity transformed abstract math concepts into practical learning, allowing students to see how numbers shape real-life experiences. Events like this empower students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and apply academic skills in meaningful ways.

The room was buzzing with excitement as students explained their games, cheered each other on, and celebrated their success with laughter and pride. The Chipps spirit was on full display.

This carnival wasn’t just a celebration of math—it was a celebration of learning, innovation, and the amazing potential of our students. Here’s to more learning adventures ahead!
