Dress Up, Test Strong.

Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School is getting ready for state testing with a fun-filled Spirit Week designed to energize students, boost confidence, and build school pride.

As state testing kicks off next week, Chippewa Jr./Sr. High is fueling school spirit with themed dress-up days that combine fun, motivation, and a whole lot of Chipp pride. From basketball jerseys to beach attire, students and staff are coming together to bring positive energy into the building and support one another through testing week.

Each day has its own theme and message:

  • Monday tips off with Basketball Attire and the motto “Shoot for Success.”
  • Tuesday celebrates Guardians Attire, encouraging students to “Swing for Success—Hit a Home Run on the Test!”
  • Wednesday brings cozy vibes with Pajama Day, reminding everyone to “Rest and Relax for the State Test.”
  • Thursday turns up the brightness with Neon/Crazy Colors to “Stay Bright, Stay Focused!”
  • And Friday closes out with Beach Attire, giving a final boost before Spring Break with “Lei Back and Relax!”

This week is about more than just outfits—it’s a celebration of effort, unity, and the importance of showing up with confidence. Spirit Week gives students a chance to express themselves, support one another, and head into testing with momentum.

With the Guardians’ home opener, and Spring Break on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to celebrate what it means to be a Chipp.

Music Meets Movement.

Students in Mr. Smith’s class brought energy and air instruments to the auditorium as they jammed out to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock & Roll.”

In one of the most lively lessons of the semester, Mr. Smith’s class took their learning to the stage—literally. Known playfully as the “Maniacs,” the class headed to the auditorium to put on an impromptu band performance to Bob Seger’s iconic “Old Time Rock & Roll.”

Students enthusiastically picked up guitars, drums, and keyboards, channeling the spirit of rock legends while embracing the rhythm and style of a classic hit. The room echoed with laughter, stomping feet, and pure enthusiasm as students learned not just about the music, but how it feels to live it.

Experiences like this bring classroom content to life, making history, culture, and creativity tangible for students. It’s about more than the song—it’s about connecting to a moment, a feeling, and a genre that continues to influence generations.

The “Maniacs” left the stage with wide smiles, a new appreciation for rock history, and a shared memory that hit all the right notes.

Harmonizing with Excellence.

Under the direction of Mrs. Shauna Knight, the Chippewa Choir delivered an incredible performance at the Tri-County Festival of Choirs in Smithville last night, showcasing their talent and dedication.

The Chippewa Choir took the stage at the Tri-County Festival of Choirs in Smithville, captivating the audience with their harmonies and musical artistry. Led by director Shauna Knight, the choir represented Chippewa with professionalism and passion, performing alongside other top choirs in the region.

Each note reflected the hard work and dedication of these talented students, who spent weeks perfecting their performance. The energy in the room was undeniable as voices blended seamlessly, creating a moving and memorable experience for all in attendance.

This event not only celebrated musical excellence but also highlighted the power of collaboration and the love of music that unites students across schools. Well done, Chippewa Choir!

Programming in Action.

Students in Mrs. Wilcox’s Junior High coding class are running their own coded programs on individually constructed bots, turning their learning into hands-on innovation.

Mrs. Wilcox’s Junior High coding students are taking their programming skills to the next level by running self-written code on bots they built themselves. This hands-on approach allows students to see their code in action, testing logic, problem-solving, and creativity in real time.

Through trial and error, students debugged their programs and refined their code to get their bots moving, making decisions, and responding to commands. The excitement in the classroom was electric as each bot successfully executed its programmed tasks!

This project not only strengthens coding fundamentals but also fosters critical thinking and perseverance—skills that will serve students well in future STEM opportunities.

Creativity in Every Chapter.

Students in Mr. Smith’s English class have brought their imaginations to life with “Chippewa Narratives,” a collection of original short stories showcasing their creativity and storytelling talents.

In Mr. Smith’s English class, students transformed their ideas into captivating short stories, compiling their work into a book titled Chippewa Narratives. From thrilling adventures to heartfelt journeys, each story highlights the students’ creativity, effort, and passion for storytelling.

This project is more than just writing—it’s a celebration of expression and literary talent within the Chippewa community. Families and friends can enjoy these imaginative stories and witness the incredible work of our students.
