Safe. Secure. Ready to Learn.

The safety of our students is our highest priority. At Chippewa Elementary School, we maintain clear procedures, trained staff, and a proactive approach to school safety—ensuring a secure environment where students can focus on learning and families can feel confident every day.

Key Safety Initiatives:

  • Secure Facilities: All entrances are monitored and locked during the school day, ensuring controlled access to the building.
  • Visitor Management: All visitors must sign in while on school grounds.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Regular safety drills, including fire, lockdown, and weather-related procedures, prepare students and staff to respond effectively to any situation.
  • Student Support Services: Counselors and staff provide resources and assistance to support students’ emotional and mental well-being.
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement: We maintain strong partnerships with local law enforcement to enhance school safety.

We are committed to creating an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Recognize the Good. Reinforce the Positive.

At the New School, we use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to build a culture where expectations are clear, positive actions are celebrated, and every student is encouraged to grow. By focusing on what students do well, we create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for learning.

Leveraging AI to Enhance Education.

At Chippewa Local Schools, our AI Principles are designed to ensure that artificial intelligence enhances the educational experience while prioritizing student well-being and privacy. We believe in using AI responsibly, focusing on personalized learning, equity, and ethical practices. Rather than focusing on restrictions, our principles emphasize what students and educators can do—encouraging the effective and positive use of AI tools to enhance and personalize education. Our guidelines outline how we integrate AI to support both educators and students, ensuring transparency, data privacy, and inclusivity for all learners. By embracing AI as a collaborative tool, we aim to create a dynamic and supportive environment where technology and human insight work together to maximize student success.

Chippewa Local Schools AI Principles

Role of AI

At Chippewa Local Schools, we believe that AI enhances our educators, acting as a supportive tool without replacing them. We are committed to using AI in a responsible, human-centered way to augment intelligence, not replace it.

AI for All Learners

AI enhances the learning experience by diversifying how information is presented, how students can express their knowledge, and how they engage with material. This allows us to create more personalized and dynamic learning environments that meet the needs of all students.

Equity and Inclusion

We leverage AI to personalize learning, remove barriers, and ensure equitable access for all students, including but not limited to students with disabilities, multilingual learners, gifted students, economically disadvantaged students, and those from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Ethical Use

Chippewa Local Schools is committed to the ethical use of AI. We emphasize bias awareness, data privacy, transparency, and fairness. Our staff use AI as a tool while maintaining their professional judgment.

Limitations of AI

We exercise caution when relying on AI detection tools for critical decisions. Human understanding remains crucial for the nuanced evaluation of our students.

Data Privacy

We take student data privacy seriously. Our staff is trained in safeguarding student data through strong governance policies and regular training.

Transparency and Oversight

At Chippewa Local Schools, we prioritize transparency in our AI systems, ensuring understandable models and oversight in decision-making processes.

AI Literacy

We are committed to ongoing AI literacy initiatives for our students and educators. This includes curriculum integration, professional development, and partnerships with universities.

AI as a Collaborative Tool

AI serves as a collaborative tool, amplifying the efforts of our educators. It supports them in creating inclusive, engaging, and tailored learning experiences while ensuring that human insight and expertise remain at the forefront of student development.

Development of These Principles

The AI Principles at Chippewa Local Schools were thoughtfully designed by our Artificial Intelligence Team in collaboration with educational experts and guided by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards. This collaborative approach ensures that our framework reflects both cutting-edge innovation and a steadfast commitment to ethical and equitable practices in education.

By incorporating ISTE standards, we aim to align with global best practices, preparing students and educators for a future where AI serves as a powerful tool for learning and growth.
